Exchange of students and personnel

In the scope of international cooperation, the University of Banja Luka, as a part of the activities of the Cooperation agreement, devotes considerable attention to the exchange of students and personnel through international exchange programs, study visits, summer schools, workshops, seminaries and practice.

The University of Banja Luka has been a member of the so-called CEEPUS network (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) since 2008/2009. These activities are carried out in the cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. So far, under this program, more than 220 professors, associates and students from the partner countries (Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Australia and Hungary) have been exchanged in both directions. Activities on the realization of this program are continuing in the following years through the realization of the program CEEPUS III.

Erasmus Mundus (Join EU-SEE, EUROWEB, and SUNBEAM) is the exchange program that entails several projects that The University of Banja Luka has included in since 2011/2012, which were coordinated by these universities:

1. The Karl Franzens University in Graz, Austria.

2. The Mälardalen University in Sweden.

3. The University of Ancona, Italy.

Thanks to the program, the total of 36 students from The University of Banja Luka spent a part of their study at the European Union universities, and 12 members of personnel realized a part of their research/teaching or specialization at the universities in the European Union (in Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium). Under this program, four students (two from Italy, one from Slovenia and one from Poland) and one teacher from France have stayed at the University of Banja Luka. This exchange program does not exist anymore; it is replaced with the program Erasmus+ (KA1)-The Credit exchange.

Erasmus+ (KA1) – The credit exchange is a new program of the European committee that offers universities the possibility to exchange students and personnel. The component Credit exchange acts so that the EU partner informs the National Agency of its country about the exchange project with the University of Banja Luka in the agreed areas. If the project gets approved which means that funds for realization of exchange are received, the University of Banja Lukas must sign the Inter-institutional agreement with the partner institution from the European Union. Thus, the preconditions for the announcement of the public tender for the enrollment of candidates are fulfilled, and then for the selection of candidates who get scholarship. The student exchange can last from three (3) to twelve months for the purpose of study and two (2) to twelve months for the purpose of practice. The exchange of personnel can last from five (5) days to two (2) months.

The personnel and students of the University of Banja Luka use other scholarship opportunities of different programs government of foreign countries and international organizations and foundations.
