Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Law Cooperating with the National Bank of Serbia

On 8 October, the deans of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka, Professor Stanko Stanic, PhD, and Professor Zeljko Mirjanic, PhD, and Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Jorgovanka Tabakovic, signed a memorandum of understanding on business cooperation in Belgrade.

,,The aim of the cooperation is to foster an environment that will enable the best students to put the knowledge they gained to practice’’, it reads in the press release published on the web page of the National Bank of Serbia.

As stated in the press release, these MOUs envisage cooperation in designing student internship programmes, monitoring student work and creating employment programmes in line with the possibilities and business activities of the National Bank of Serbia, designing mentorship programmes for university students, organising visiting lectures of the National Bank of Serbia representatives at faculties and other forms of cooperation with students and student organisations.

Governor Jovanka Tobakovic said on this occasion that the continuity of good results  of the National Bank of Serbia depends, among other things, on the knowledge and quality of students graduating from the MOU faculties signatories, which is why the National Bank of Serbia strives to be a reliable and sincere partner to all these faculties. 

She reminded that in the past three years the National Bank of Serbia implemented more than 100 different activities with the faculties, including visiting lectures of the National Bank of Serbia employees at the faculties, organised student visits to the National Bank of Serbia, participation of the National Bank of Serbia representatives at the conferences organised by faculties and students, organisation of student competitions in the board game Moneture, etc. Moreover, during the past three years more than 120 students had their internship at the National Bank of Serbia.

The deans thanked the Governor and the National Bank of Serbia for the opportunity to be a part the project which additionally improves the educational process, adding that they share common interests and values with the National Bank of Serbia in this endevaour. They emphasized that cooperation with the National Bank of Serbia gives the students an opportunity to apply the gained theoretical knowledge and boost their employability.

Apart from the two faculties of the University of Banja Luka, MOUs were also signed with the representatives of nine faculties from Serbia and four faculties from the Republic of Srpska in the field of economics, law and organisational sciences.
