Learning objectives
To introduce the student to: legal regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska; the significance of harmonizing national regulations and standards with international ones; procedures for adopting food regulations; containing the most important legal regulations on the quality and safety of food and their practical application.
Learning outcomes
After the realization of the teaching and taking the exam, the student should be able to use the acquired knowledge and independently apply the provisions of the horizontal legislation related to the quality and safety of food, checks the conformity of the quality of products and processes with the prescribed conditions, or suggests corrective measures if nonconformity is found.
Content
Product quality and safety standards and standardization; Food Regulations in BiH and RS; Food Law; Labor conditions that must be fulfilled by authorized testing laboratories conducting food analyzes; Food Hygiene Regulations - general and specific conditions that must be met by food business operators; Declarations and food labeling; Contaminants in food (Contaminants of biological origin, Heavy metals as contaminants, Pesticide residues, herbicides and nitrates as contaminants, Residues of veterinary medicinal products, Food contact materials, GMO contamination, Food additives as contaminants in food).
