Learning objectives
Introduce the material from the point of view of the nature of molecules, chemical bonds and crystal structures. Physical and mechanical properties of the most important types of materials in the chemical process industry.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to recognize the types of materials, their behavior in relation to the action of the environment in which they are located, in accordance with certain principles and laws. He can correctly choose the material for the designed construction and predict its behavior in the given conditions.
Content
1. Atom structure and atomic bonds; Types of atomic and molecular bonds. 2. Crystal structures and geometric properties of crystals: 3. Crystallization, crystal grid defects and diffusion; 4. Elastic and plastic deformations, recrystallization; 5. Mechanical properties of materials; Physical properties of materials; 6. Fundamentals of alloy theory, phase diagrams; 7. Metal materials; 8. Polymeric materials: 9. Ceramic materials: 10. Composite materials: 11. New materials.
