Preparation of Projects Discussed

On 15 September 2023, the preparation of joint project applications for the Horizon Europe programme was discussed by the Institute of Genetic Resources of the University of Banja Luka and the New Zealand Margot Forde Germplasm Centre (MFGC), AgResearch, at a meeting held at the Plant Gene Bank of Serbia, in Belgrade.

The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources of the University of Banja Luka Asst. Prof. Marina Antić, PhD, and was attended by Kioumars Ghamghar, PhD, Director of the Margot Forde Germplasm Centre (MFGC), AgResearch, Prof. Alban Ibraliu, PhD, from the Agricultural University of Tirana, Maja Ječmenica, PhD, Director of the Plant Gene Bank of Serbia and Dragana Radulović, MSc, Senior Associate for Scientific Research and Development at the University of Banja Luka.

It is important to emphasize that during September 2022, cooperation between the Institute for Genetic Resources and the New Zealand Margot Forde Germplasm Centre (MFGC), AgResearch, was achieved through the implementation of a joint expedition to collect seeds of important forage species and their wild relatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
