The Across Alliance invites candidates from the University of Banja Luka to apply for the Across Mobility Scholarship Programme, aimed at funding mobility opportunities for early-career researchers (R1) to be awarded in 2026.

The programme aims to strengthen networking and collaboration among researchers within the Alliance, promote cross-border academic exchange, and support learning and professional development for early-career researchers.

Framework

The mobility must take place at another partner institution of the Across Alliance. The mobility period must last at least one month; however, the grant programme will cover up to one month of physical mobility. Mobility may be carried out in a hybrid format. However, physical presence at the host institution must last at least two weeks. Several mobility periods shorter than one month may be accumulated, provided that the beneficiary commits to reaching a total duration of one month.

Funding

The grant covers travel, accommodation and subsistence costs related exclusively to the physical component of the mobility. No financial contribution will be provided for the online component of the mobility.

The contribution will be calculated based on the applicable Erasmus+ reference rates for travel, accommodation and subsistence, as specified in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide. In addition, specific rates have been established in accordance with the maximum individual financial contribution of EUR 1,250 per month of physical mobility included in the approved budget (see Annex 1 for contribution details and examples).

The unit used for planning the stay and calculating the contribution is one week. For hybrid mobility, the financial contribution will be calculated proportionally according to the duration of the physical mobility period. The total contributions for accumulated mobility periods must comply with the maximum individual contribution. In cases of accumulated mobility periods, particular attention should be paid to the existing limitation, as travel support may be awarded only once.

Eligibility

Applicants must be students or employees of the University of Banja Luka or individuals collaborating with the University under a service contract.

The call is open exclusively to doctoral candidates and R1 researchers, as well as students enrolled in the final year of a master’s programme who are currently working on their master’s thesis or are formally expected to begin working on it during the mobility period.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted using the official Mobility Agreement, together with the required supporting documents attached to this call.

Under this call, candidates may submit proposals for mobility activities to be implemented and completed by 30 June 2027.

Each application must include information related to the selection criteria, in particular:

A description of the duration and modality of the mobility, as well as identification of the sending and receiving organisational units;

A detailed description of knowledge-sharing and scientific and research networking activities;

A detailed description of teaching and training activities to be carried out during the mobility.

Applicants should include a description of how the mobility will contribute to their career development, how it will strengthen links between the sending and receiving research groups or organisational units, and how it will contribute to cooperation between the universities.

Only complete applications will be considered.

Submission of Applications

Applicants are invited to submit their applications under this call by 25 July 2026 to erasmus@unibl.org.

The application must include the Mobility Agreement and Annex 2 (Commitment Statement in the case of split mobility programmes).

Selection Criteria

All eligible applications will be evaluated through a competitive review process in accordance with the assessment criteria and indicative scoring scales as follows:

Quality, feasibility and expected impact of the networking, teaching, training and knowledge-sharing programme (0–10 points), taking into account:

Scientific networking and academic quality of the proposed activities (0–3 points);

Potential contribution to long-term cooperation within the Across Alliance (0–2 points);

Expected impact on the candidate’s academic and professional development (0–2 points);

Added value for the participating research groups and institutions (0–2 points);

Interdisciplinary and cross-border cooperation dimension, where relevant (0–1 point).

Duration of mobility (0–5 points).

Continuous mobility lasting one month, whether physical or hybrid, will receive the maximum of 5 points. Hybrid mobility must comply with the minimum physical presence requirements established by the programme (a total of two weeks). Shorter or accumulated mobility periods will be assessed proportionally.

The indicative scoring scale is:

Continuous mobility of 1 month: 5 points

Continuous mobility of 3 weeks: 4 points

Continuous mobility of 2 weeks: 3 points

In the event of a tie between applications, priority will be given to new candidates. If further differentiation is required, priority will be given to candidates with the higher score under the criterion “Scientific networking and academic quality of the proposed activities.”

If it is still not possible to determine which application should be selected, the application with the higher score under the criterion “Potential contribution to long-term cooperation within the Across Alliance” will be selected.

Selection Results

Selected candidates, as well as candidates who are not selected for mobility, will be informed of the results by email within one month of the closing date of the call. The results will be published on the University’s website.
