Learning objectives | ||||
Introducing policies and problems of rural development to the students. At the same time, the economic aspects of rural development and its incorporation into the overall socio-economic flows are primarily studied. In addition to the basic theoretical approach, the aim of the study refers to the basics of European rural development policy and the functioning of European institutions and funds to support rural development. The aim of the course is to familiarize with the results and problems of rural development in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A special aspect refers to the possibility of including the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European concept and network of support for rural development, with a special aspect on the possibility of access to EU cohesion, structural and rural funds. The financing of rural and regional development in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska is studied in particular. | ||||
Learning outcomes | ||||
The outcome of the course is the ability to observe and identify different aspects of rural development and rural economy. Based on this knowledge, students will be able to understand the economic aspects and problems of rural development (general and specific), and to independently use and practically apply them. | ||||

Agriculture - the basic function of rural areas. 9. Processing industries and tourism in rural areas. 10. Traditional and market-oriented economy of rural areas. 11. Conflicts, risks and exposure of rural areas to natural disasters. 12. Legal, economic and technical measures of reorganization and arrangement of rural space. 13. Spatial-functional organization of rural areas. 14. Rural area of BiH/RS in spatial planning documents. 15. Socioeconomic, demographic and ecological sustainability of rural areas. | ||||
