Ms Barbara Lanciers, the Director of the Trust for Mutual Understanding organization, and Ms Alina Enggist, the program officer of the organization, visited the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka on 24 March 2014. During this official working visit, the guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr Valerija Šaula, the Vice- Rector for International Cooperation and Prof. Dr Milan Mataruga, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development of the University of Banja Luka and. The meeting was also attended by Doc. Mr Mladen Miljanović, the representative of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka.
The meeting was preceded by a multi-day visit of the guests from the USA to cultural institutions in Banja Luka and the relevant ministries of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, and also by the talks with the Dean of the Academy of Arts, Prof. dr Luka Kecman, and his associates about the possible cooperation in this year.
With the means of anonymous donors, the Trust for Mutual Understanding, with its headquarters in New York, finances non-profit organizations from the USA cooperating with partner institutions from Central and Eastern Europe respectively, with a view to giving support to exchanging staff and travelling abroad in order to promote the arts, cultural activities, environment protection, sustainable development, etc.
