A lecture titled “PROCESSING WAR CRIME CASES BEFORE THE DISTRICT COURT IN BANJA LUKA” held in cooperation with the OSCE mission

In cooperation with the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina a lecture has been organized at the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka on 25 November 2014, during which the students of the University of Banja Luka were introduced to the practice of the District Court in Banja Luka regarding the processing of the war crime cases.



With the purpose of dissemination of information about the issues related to processing war crime cases before the local courts, students, teaching assistants and professors of the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Political Sciences and Faculty of Philosophy respectively, as well as those from the Police College (associated member of the University of Banja Luka), were addressed by the Ms Vesna Ćosovic-Stanković, judge of the District Court in Banja Luka, and legal advisors in the Office of the OSCE in Banja Luka, Ms Dušanka Sekulić and Mr Saša Bojanić.



After the presentation, the students put questions to the lecturers and gave their comments on the topic, thus taking an active part in the event. During the welcoming address, Prof. Dr Valerija Šaula, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka, reminded the audience of a long history of successful cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and OSCE mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina in education on issues within the mandate of this international organization.



In addition, the audience was informed that on 10 December 2014, i.e. the International Human Rights Day, there would be an interesting lecture “Phenomenology of hate or prejudice motivated incidents” organized. The details on that event will be made public in due course.
