Western Balkans Process – Joint Science Conference
University of Banja LukaGeneralProf. Milan Mataruga, Rector of the University, took part at the 3rd Western Balkans Process – Joint Science Conference in Paris, France, on June 14-15, 2017, organized by the French Academy of Science in cooperation with the German ‘Leopoldina’ Academy of Science.
This year’s conference motto was: ‘Turn an idea into action: Invest into young scholars and business growth’, and it focused on two topics. The first one was to form the ‘Nikola Tesla’ Research Foundation for Assistance to Young Researchers from the region of Balkans, whereas the second one drew attention to defining recommendations within the ‘Action Plan for Smart Growth of the Western Balkans’
The aim of this conference was to provide formal recommendations for the Summit of Presidents and Prime Ministers of the Western Balkans, to be held in Trieste (Italy), on July 12, 2017.
The conference gathered eminent scholars from the academies of science from all Balkan countries and their respective chairpersons, along with those from France, Germany, and Italy, rectors of major Balkan universities and chairpersons of Rectors’ Conferences of France, Germany, and Italy, as well as other renowned scholars from the aforementioned countries.
