Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka Participated in the 2018 Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Central and Eastern Europe

Representatives of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka took part in the 2018 Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Central and Eastern Europe held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 23 October 2018, which was organized and hosted by the Confucius Institute in Sofia.
 
Topics covered and discussed at the conference were the evaluation and improvement of the Chinese language teaching quality of Confucius Institutes, characteristics and innovative development of Confucius Institutes and what they have been focusing on and orienting themselves toward in the last couple of years, as well as their facilitating roles in the Belt and Road Initiative, which is a development strategy adopted by the Chinese government involving infrastructure development and investments in countries in Europe.

The Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka Cai Ying presented the work and achievements made by the Confucius Institute in Banja Luka in promoting and facilitating the Belt and Road Initiative and she emphasized the support of the University of Banja Luka in its developing to serve as a platform for better cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and PR China.

Regional Joint Conferences of Confucius Institutes are organized to enable the Confucius Institutes in Central and Eastern Europe to meet and share their views and exchange their experiences relating to their work and its improvement and enhancement.

The Confucius Institute global network includes more than 500 in over 140 countries worldwide, promoting Chinese language and culture in the communities in which they operate.
