On 25 October 2018, Prof. Klemens Jäger, PhD, representative of the FOM (Fachhochschule für Oekonomie & Management) University of Essen (Germany), addressed applicants for the Fairnetzen scholarship programme on the premises of the Faculty of Economics.
Prof. Jäger said that students had been presented scholarships for this academic year, pointing out the fact that the total of 325 scholarships would have been granted by June 2019, taking into account the scholarships from previous periods as well.
‘Throughout these years, we have realised that there are hard-working students in Banja Luka striving for new challenges and looking forward to future projects, and it has been our pleasure to support them in their efforts’, said Prof. Jäger, who also holds a honorary PhD degree of the University of Banja Luka.
The applicants were also addressed by Prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka
Ms Angelina Dulic, third-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, said that she was going to spend the scholarship on textbooks and a stethoscope, expressing her satisfaction at the fact that her hard work had been recognised.
The FOM University, in cooperation with the Fairnetzen Foundation, provided 50 scholarships for this academic year, with 95 candidates having entered the competition.
The scholarships concerned are one-time ones, provided in the amount of EUR 200, intended for I- and II-academic cycle students of all faculties of the University of Banja Luka.
MEETING WITH RECTOR
On the same day, Prof. Jäger met with Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, Rector of the University of Banja Luka, who expressed his gratitude for the scholarships provided, with the issues discussed concerning the existing and future cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka.
