University of Banja Luka Cooperates with the Vinca Institute

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Acting Director of the Vinca Institute for Nuclear Science Snezana Pajovic, PhD, signed a cooperation agreement on 23 December 2019.

The cooperation will include joint research, participation in international research and education projects, as well as other forms of cooperation within higher education. Among other things, this agreement stipulates that the Vinca scientists may be lecturers at the University of Banja Luka.

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, points out that this agreement will enable direct cooperation between the two institutions.

„This agreement provides for cooperation in the field of scientific research and joint participation in national as well as international projects financed by international funds. It will also enable the education of staff – professors and assistants’’, Rector Gajanin said after signing the agreement at the Vinca Institute.

He also stressed that technical faculties will mostly benefit from the agreement, but also the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka.

Acting Director of the Vinca Institute Prof. Snezana Pajovic, PhD, said that the scientific research projects will be joint ones and that the Vinca will be an experimental base for all researchers from Banja Luka, which will enable them to reach the best possible results.

This year, the Vinca Institute became part of the Darwin Collaboration, which includes the most eminent scientific and research institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States”, Professor Snezana Pajovic said, adding that the University of Banja Luka will be involved in the project through the Vinca Institute.

She emphasizes that only by joining together different institutions, such as scientific and educational institutions, can one be an equal member of the European educational and research sphere.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Vice Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD.
