Rector Talked with Minister Gašić

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, met with the Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska Suzana Gašić on 5 October 2020.

During the meeting held at the University of Banja Luka Rectorate, the present and future cooperation between the relevant Ministry and the University was discussed.

Rector Gajanin pointed out that the University has actively cooperated with the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska in the implementation of certain projects, especially in regard to the tourism related knowledge transfer.

,,Professors, teaching assistants and students at our University are available to the Government of the Republic of Srpska in any respect, and we are willing to help overcome any challenges the Ministry of Trade and Tourism might face.“, Gajanin pointed out.

Suzana Gašić said that the relevant Ministry is working on a strategy for tourism development, and that the professors and experts at the University of Banja Luka have competencies that should be used to make improvements in this area.

Gašić stated that the good cooperation so far will be continued.

,,Each department in the Government of the Republic of Srpska has many benefits from the University of Banja Luka that it should use, as well as the knowledge of experts who can contribute to the development of many issues that we encounter in our practice.", she said.

Predrag Govedarica, Senior Expert Associate for Entrepreneurship Development at the University of Banja Luka Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre, said that this Centre, in cooperation with the relevant Ministry, has implemented two important projects related to knowledge transfer for the development of tourism potentials.

According to him, the focus was on the development of tourism potentials of the Republic of Srpska, and the development of tourism potentials of the protected areas of national parks.

,,As part of the transfer of knowledge between our professors and experts in certain fields, we have provided answers to all questions of employees in tourism and clear recommendations on how to develop tourism in certain areas from a professional point of view”, Govedarica said.

 

The meeting between the Rector and the Minister was also attended by Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, Vice-Rector of Human and Material Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, Secretary General at the University Đorđe Markez, MA, and Head of the Minister’s Cabinet Đorđe Lazić.
