University of Banja LukaGeneralSerbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik visited the University of Banja Luka on 2 November 2021, where he met with the delegation of the University, led by the rector of the University, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD.
The Serbian member talked with the delegation of the University about the completion of the building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, as well as the construction of the education centre and theatre stage within the fourth pavilion in "Nikola Tesla" Student Centre.
Serbian Member of BH Presidency Milorad Dodik said that money has been provided from the budget of the Republic of Srpska for all three most important projects that are carried out at the University, and that there will be no delays in their implementation.
He said that the building of the Rectorate, the Dental Clinic and the Faculty of Economics are being renovated within the energy efficiency project, which includes the repair of roofs, replacement of carpentry and other works.
„Extensive activities valued at more than 13 million KM are being undertaken. The goal is for this university to become regionally recognizable, i.e., all its teaching processes through the faculties should be concentrated in one location.“, Dodik said after the meeting with the leadership of the University of Banja Luka.
In this regard, he emphasized that the money that was intended for the renovation of the building in which the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is located, amounting to ten million KM, will be redirected to the construction of a new building for this faculty within the University Campus.
Dodik also expressed satisfaction with the successes achieved in the teaching-scientific process, where, as he says, continuous progress can be seen in terms of the quality of teaching, contributing to the education of staff and experts who are compatible on the labour market and can be compared to university staff from the region and worldwide.
Rector Gajanin stated that the plan is to have the capital investments in the University Campus, i.e., works on the construction of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, as well as the construction of the education centre and theatre stage, completed within a year.
„We got support from the Serbian Member of BH Presidency Milorad Dodik and the relevant ministers for the arrangement of all roads in the University Campus", said Gajanin and added that, as for the building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, it would be more profitable to move it, i.e., to construct a building for that faculty in the University Campus.
„The plan should be to have all the faculties in the future, based on a precise analysis, in one place – in the University Campus", Gajanin emphasized after the meeting.
