On 16 February 2023, Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Ambassador of Israel to Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Tirana Galit Pele talked about strengthening cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and Israeli higher education institutions.
During this meeting, Rector Gajanin pointed out that the University of Banja Luka is cooperating with the Hebrew University. As stated by the rector, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Philology, and the Faculty of Medicine have so far successfully collaborated with this university.
,,Based on the knowledge and experience arising from cooperation with universities, our Faculty of Agriculture has successfully implemented a drip irrigation project on a sample plot of 50 hectares'', the rector said and announced that in the course of the year the University of Banja Luka should be visited by a delegation from the Hebrew University.
On the other hand, as he stated, the Faculty of Medicine has established cooperation with the University of Haifa.
,,The result of that cooperation should have been the establishment of a joint study programme. Unfortunately, this was slowed down by the coronavirus pandemic, but we expect to start with the activities in that field soon'', the rector said and emphasized that scientific research and international cooperation are of great importance for the University of Banja Luka. This meeting was also an opportunity for the rector to inform the ambassador about the activities related to the implementation of the "Cyber Academy" project.
During the meeting in the rector's office, Ambassador Peleg informed the rector and vice-rectors of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, and Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, about the possibilities of cooperation, as additional training provided by the State of Israel.
