Agreement on Establishment of the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska

Prof. Željko Budimir, PhD, signed on 13 September 2023 the Agreement on Establishment of the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska.
It is the first science and technology park in the Republic of Srpska, established by the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the University of Banja Luka, and Nikola Dragović was appointed as its director.
The Government of the Republic of Srpska provided the funds for the first period of work, and to begin with, the offices of the Science and Technology Park will be in the new building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, within the University Campus. It is located in the immediate proximity of the future Science and Technology Park building, for which the project and technical documentation is currently being prepared.
As envisaged, next year, in spring, the plan is to have the foundation stone laid for the construction of the Science and Technology Park, with the total area of 7.5 thousand square metres, and the deadline set for the completion of the works is 24 months. The building, which will be located in the University Campus and which will have the necessary equipment and laboratory, is approximately valued at 15 million EUR. The overall activity of the founder of the first Science and Technology Park was supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) by providing funds for the preparation of the project and technical documentation and strengthening the capacity of the future management of the Park.
