The Center for Sinological Research to Be Established

On 6 December 2023, in Beijing, Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Director of the Belt and Road Research Institute of Beijing University of Language and Culture, Xu Baofeng, signed in an agreement on the establishment of the Center for Sinological Research at the University of Banja Luka.

This research center is important globally, and the goal is to enhance scientific research between the University of Banja Luka and the universities in China. In addition, the Center for Sinological Research at the University of Banja Luka would be a base of all sinologists in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Hercegovina, who would be working on joint projects and publications. 

In the working visit to China, in addition to the rector, Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, Confucius Institute Home Director and Head of the Sinology Study Programme Asst. Prof. Ljiljana Stević, PhD, and Teaching Assistant at the Sinology Study Programme Anja Mudrenović, MA, are currently staying in Beijing at the Confucius Institutes Global Conference. 

During their stay in Beijing, the University of Banja Luka delegation also visited the University of International Studies in Beijing, with which the University of Banja Luka has signed an agreement on the establishment of a language laboratory and examination center for Serbian as a foreign language. While in Beijing, the delegation of our higher education institution also visited the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Beijing.
