The Exhibition "From Pasture to Scientist" Opened

The exhibition "From Pasture to Scientist" dedicated to the scientist Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin was opened on 23 May 2024 at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka.

The official opening of the exhibition was attended by the Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Vice-Rector Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD and Vice-Rector Prof. Aleksandar Ostojić, PhD.
The exhibition will be open until 6 June from 10 am to 7 pm.

It is an exhibition named after Pupin's autobiography dating from 1921, for which he was awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize three years later.
Mihajlo Pupin (1854–1935) is a Serbian scientist, inventor, professor at Columbia University, holder of the Yugoslav decoration White Eagle of the first order and honorary consul of Serbia in the USA. He was also one of the founders and long-time president of the Serbian National Association in America. During his scientific and experimental work, Pupin made important conclusions relevant for the fields of multiple telegraphy, wireless telegraphy and telephony, the X-ray technology, and he also also contributed to the development of electrical engineering. He also invented the loading coils, also known as Pupin coils. He received many scientific awards and medals, was a member of the American Academy of Sciences, the Serbian Royal Academy, and an honorary doctor of 18 universities.

As a reminder, the book "Pupin`s Patents and His Philosophy" by Milan Božić was promoted on 23 April 2024 at the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka.
