Participation of Asst. Prof. Ljiljana Stević at the Confucius Institute Conference

University of Banja Luka Confucius Institute Home Director Asst. Prof. Ljiljana Stević, PhD, took part in the Joint Conference of Confusius Institutes (Classroom) in Central and Eastern Europe, held 4-6 July 2024 in Budapest.

This event was organized by the Chinese International Education Foundation, with the ELTE and
its Confucius Institute as the co-organizers. More than 100 participants took part in the event,
among whom deans, representatives of the partner institutions, and representatives of 35
Confucius Institutes and four independent Confucius Classrooms from 19 countries.

The theme of the conference was "Joint Progress, Cooperation for Mutual Benefit", and the
participants discussed the following topics: "Using Special Benefits to Achieve Innovative
Development of Confucius Institutes", "Regional Coordination and Sharing, Building a
Sustainable Ecosystem for Confucius Institutes" and "Regional Educational Policies for the
Chinese Language.”

At this event, Asst. Prof. Stević gave a presentation on the "Regional Cooperation and
Coordination of Confucius Institutes", and the event itself was an opportunity to talk about the exchange of staff and students within the Erasmus+ exchange programme, the existing
agreements on cooperation with higher education institutions from China, as well as about the
work of Confucius Institutes and how it can be improved.
