Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić at a conference in China

The Vice-Rector for international and inter-university cooperation of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, participated in an international conference „2025 BFSU China-CEE Conference on People-to-People Exchanges”, which was held in a city of Ningbo, from 22 to 25 May 2025. It was organized by the Beijing University of Foreign Studies (BFSU) and University of Technology in Ningbo.

In the course of the first day of Conference, there was an organized visit to Ningbo EXPO, the cooperation fair between China and countries of the Central and East Europe, where the Vice-Rector, along with the representatives of the University of East Sarajevo, participated in presenting the economic and touristic potentials of the Republic of Srpska and BiH, upon the invitation of the BiH Ambassador to China, Prof. Siniša Berjan, PhD.

The central part of the conference was marked with formal opening that was attended by the high officials of educational and state institutions of China and the countries of central and East Europe. During the opening program, there was a forum on the topic of cooperation in the field of education, science and economy cooperation, with special emphasis on all the more present application of artificial intelligence in education.

During panel discussion, Vice-Rector Pantelić Babić presented University of Banja Luka and reflected on the so-far cooperation with institutions from China. She invited the partners from China to come and visit the Republic of Srpska and the University of Banja Luka, and to discuss the possibilities of new ways of cooperating.

During the conference, the additional panel discussions were held with exhibitors from various fields, who served as a good opportunity for exchange of contacts and additional promotion of the University of Banja Luka.

In the official part, the Vice-Rector talked with the leadership of the University of Technology in Ningbo and representatives of the BSFU, discussing further steps in expanding the cooperation between the higher education institutions.

The visit to China was realized at the initiative and with the help of the Embassy of BiH in China and Ambassador Berjan, who gave the key contribution to organizing this visit.
