The wreath on Rector Dodig’s gave at New Cemetery in Banja Luka was laid by the Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, accompanied by Vice-Rector for Teaching Process, Student Issues and Quality, Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, and Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD.
With this symbolic act, we paid respect to Prof. Dragica Dodig, PhD, who run the University of Banja Luka from 1984 to 1988, leaving her mark in its history, development, and affirmation.
Prof. Dragica Dodig was born on 15 September 1926 in Kosjerovo, Laktaši municipality. After completed Gymnasium in Banja Luka, she graduated from Chemical Technology Department of the Technical Faculty of Zagreb, and she defended her PhD thesis at the Faculty of Technology in Tuzla. She started her academic career in 1963 at the then Technical Faculty in Banja Luka, where she was promoted to an Associate Professor for subjects Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Technology. She performed the duty of a Vice-Dean, and she was the first Dean of the newly formed Faculty of Technology in two terms.
Besides her teaching and scientific engagement, she actively participated in social and economic life, performing significant managing functions.
Prof. Dragica Dodig, PhD, passed away in Banja Luka on 15 January 1999, aged 73, and she was buried four days later at Banja Luka New Cemetery.
