Representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering visited Kemnitz

Representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka paid a study visit to the Fraunhofer Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik – IWU from 26 January to 8 February 2026, in the German city of Kemnitz.

The study visit was organized by two researchers of this Institute, Alexander Pirer and Dieter Weis, within the activity of the project E-Micro-Mobility-Hub, and the guests were Prof. Stevo Borojević, PhD, Prof. Branislav Sredanović, PhD, and an Assistant, Milan Gajanin.

During their visit, they were informed about the latest research in manufacturing technologies, and they agreed on the modalities of future cooperation between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Institute.

The “Fraunhofer IWU” institute is a leading German and European scientific institution in the field of mechanical engineering, particularly engineering in production, which is realizing numerous development projects and has an intensive cooperation with German and European scientific and industry giants, such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the “Volkswagen, and others.
