Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Li Fan, visited the University of Banja Luka on 27 March 2026, and met with the Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, and Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation, Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD.
During the meeting in the Rectorate, they discussed the improvement in the sphere of higher education, scientific research work, and exchange of students and academic staff, with a particular reflection on the activity of the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka and the Study program Sinology. Particular emphasis was given to strengthening academic and cultural ties between the University of Banja Luka and partner institutions from China.
The meeting was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Biljana Babić, PhD, and the Director of the Confucius Institute, Ass. Prof. Ljiljana Stević, PhD, who is also the Head of the Study program Sinology at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka, while in the delegation of the embassy were the First Secretary, Qu Huibin, and Economic Advisor, Gai Guoqiang.
In the course of this visit, Ambassador Li Fan visited the Faculty of Philology, i.e., the Study program Sinology, and our Confucius Institute.
