A guest lecture on the topic “The Rule of Law in Ancient and Modern Republics: Institutions, Political Culture, and Self-Government” will be held by Professor Paul Anthony Rahe of Hillsdale College (USA) on 5 May at 10:00 a.m. in Lecture Hall 203 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Banja Luka.
Paul Anthony Rahe is an American classicist, historian, and author, and a professor at Hillsdale College. He earned his education at Yale University and the University of Oxford, where he completed his undergraduate and doctoral studies in history and classical studies.
Professor Rahe is one of the leading experts in political philosophy and history, with a particular focus on the American Revolution, constitutional tradition, and The Federalist Papers. His work also covers the development of self-government, the foundations of American liberty, and the evolution of political institutions throughout history. He is the author of several significant and influential works, including the book Republics Ancient and Modern: Classical Republicanism and the American Revolution.
He is the recipient of numerous international scholarships and awards, including the Rhodes Scholarship, as well as multiple prizes for his scholarly and teaching work. His academic career includes research appointments at leading universities and research centers in the United States and Europe.
