UNIBL became a member of the Balkans’ Universities Association

The University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) has been officially granted membership in the Balkans’ Universities Association (BUA) during a conference held at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica

The 9th conference of this association, held on 1 and 2 April 2026 in Podgorica, was attended by the Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD.

During the first day of the conference, the participants discussed the role and significance of European University alliances, experiences, and challenges faced by the universities. The program included panel-discussions, interactive questions and answers, and meetings of sub-committees on education and cooperation, with special reflection on cultural and academic cooperation in the Balkans area.

On the second day, there were signing ceremonies for all new members, a certificate award ceremony to the President of BUA for 2025, as well as a handover to the new President of the Association, Prof. Serdan Kervan, PhD, who presented plans and perspectives of the organization for the coming period.

Membership of the University of Banja Luka in the Balkans’ Universities Association contributes to the strengthening of international cooperation and networking of the University of Banja Luka with the universities in the Balkans and beyond.
