Representatives of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), Assist. Prof. Ljubiša Mićić, PhD, from the Faculty of Economics, and Prof. Tamara Pribišev Beleslin, PhD, from the Faculty of Philosophy, took part in a study visit to the Polytechnic University of Santarém in Portugal from April 20 to 24, 2026, within the Erasmus+ project “Transforming Business Education with AI in Western Balkans” (TBEAI).
The visit program focused on activities within Work Package 2, which includes the analysis of existing study programs, preparation of findings reports, exchange of good practices, and the development of modern approaches to the application of artificial intelligence in business education.
During the visit, working sessions were held on curriculum modernization, study program development, the use of AI tools in teaching, as well as strengthening cooperation between universities and the business sector. A dedicated part of the program included a visit to the Óbidos Technology Park, where examples of linking higher education, research, innovation, and the business sector were presented.
The TBEAI project is funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme and is aimed at improving business education in the Western Balkans through the integration of artificial intelligence into curricula, the development of AI capacities, and the strengthening of cooperation between academia and industry.
For the University of Banja Luka, participation in this project is significant in terms of enhancing teaching and research capacities, increasing international visibility, developing new academic partnerships, and supporting the digital transformation of higher education.
During the visit to Portugal, initial contacts were also established toward signing a cooperation agreement between the University of Banja Luka and the Polytechnic University of Santarém, with the aim of developing future activities in the areas of mobility, joint projects, research, and academic exchange.
