University of Banja Luka senior teaching assistant at the Department of Power Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Đorđe Lekić, MA, presented on 19 May 2026 at the 68th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements in Belgrade, the results of the project titled “Design, Manufacturing and Testing of a New Type of Synchronous Electric Motor with Permanent Magnets on the Rotor (In-house Development)”.

The project was developed as a result of research conducted within his doctoral dissertation.

The Fair featured the results of the experimental verification of a prototype synchronous electric motor characterized by compact dimensions, high specific torque, and low torque ripple, intended for application in electric vehicles.

The motor was designed using the EMotorLAB software tool, developed as part of the doctoral research and based on the application of metaheuristic optimization, expert knowledge, and numerical simulations using the finite element method.

The electric motor prototype was developed in cooperation with the companies YMTM from Turkey and “Konel” LLC from the Republic of Srpska, with financial support from the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska. Experimental verification was conducted in the laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka.

Participation in the Fair facilitated the establishment of important professional contacts and created favorable conditions for the continuation and advancement of scientific research in electric motor design.

The International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements is being held from 19 to 22 May 2026 at the Belgrade Fair. It is the oldest technical and technological exhibition event in this part of Europe, specializing in production technologies. The Fair was first organized in 1937 and has since become an important witness to the development of industry and technology, as well as a driving force behind numerous other trade fair events.

Since 1957, it has been a member of the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (UFI), headquartered in Paris.
