Rector Gajanin Attends Ceremony Marking Half a Century of the University of Kragujevac

The Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, attended the ceremonial academy marking the 50th anniversary of the University of Kragujevac on 21 May 2026.

This significant jubilee, celebrating half a century of successful work and development of the University of Kragujevac, was commemorated with a formal ceremony held at the Serbian Knyaz Theatre.

The Rector of the University of Kragujevac, Prof. Vladimir Ranković, PhD, emphasized that the institution today has nearly 17,000 students and 14 faculties strategically positioned across six cities in central Serbia.

Serbia’s Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Academician Prof. Bela Balint, assessed that the University of Kragujevac is entering a new phase of development, building on its tradition and achievements. He stressed that the university’s scientific work and the international visibility of its researchers confirm its position within the contemporary academic community, including its presence on relevant global rankings.

Today, the University of Kragujevac is an internationally recognized and highly ranked higher education institution. According to the prestigious QS rankings, it is listed among the top 1,400 universities in the world and among the top 600 universities in Europe.
