Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, officiated the women's final match at the prestigious international beach volleyball tournament, the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite16, held in Ostrava, Czechia, from 27 to 31 May 2026.

The Elite16 tournament represents the highest tier of international beach volleyball competition, bringing together the world's best teams and ranking among the most significant events on the sport’s calendar.

The highlight of Prof. Pantelić Babić’s participation in the tournament was her appointment as the first referee for the women's final match, played on 31 May. The gold medal match featured teams from Canada and the Netherlands, and the responsibility of officiating this prestigious encounter was entrusted to Prof. Pantelić Babić, PhD.

Her appointment to the Elite16 tournament and selection to officiate the final match represent significant international recognition of her professional achievements, expertise, and reputation within the global refereeing community.

At the same time, this success serves as an important affirmation of the University of Banja Luka on the international sports stage.

Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport and Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka.
