Dr. Nataša Čereković, Senior Associate for Project Support at the University of Banja Luka, and Andrej Ševa, MA, Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka, conducted a research visit to Bialystok University of Technology in Poland from 13 to 22 July 2026 as part of the ACROSS Alliance.
During their stay at the University of Banja Luka's partner institution within the ACROSS Alliance, the participants enhanced their research competencies in the fields of foresight methodology, comparative territorial research, energy transition, and smart village studies.
Particular emphasis was placed on activities within the RURALSTRAT project, through which opportunities were explored for conducting field research in smart villages across the Republic of Srpska, as well as for developing case studies that would contribute to the further advancement of the project.
As part of the research visit, the representatives of the University of Banja Luka held a series of working meetings with members of the academic community at Bialystok University of Technology. They met with Prof. Katarzyna Czerewacz-Filipowicz, PhD, Director of the Institute of Management and Quality Sciences and Associate Professor at the International Department of Logistics and Service Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering Management.
An important meeting was also held with Prof. Joanna Ejdys, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management, during which the participants discussed opportunities to expand institutional cooperation between the two universities. Particular attention was given to the development of dual degree programs at the second and third cycles of study, as well as to joint participation in consortia applying for projects under the Horizon Europe programme.
The research visit marks another step in strengthening the international cooperation of the University of Banja Luka through the ACROSS Alliance. It also contributes to knowledge exchange, the development of joint research activities, and the creation of new opportunities for participation in international projects.
