Vice-Rector of the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, and UNIBL students participated in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “Why Sit If You Can Exercise?”, held in early July 2026 at Bialystok University of Technology within the framework of the ACROSS Alliance.
Alongside Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, the program was attended by Nina Tatić, Peđa Kolobarić, and Aleksandar Šutilović, students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Banja Luka.
The Blended Intensive Programme and Summer School brought together students and academic staff from several European universities, providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experience, and contemporary approaches in the field of physical activity and the prevention of sedentary lifestyles. The program was implemented in two phases—online from 1 to 3 July and in Bialystok from 6 to 10 July—with the Vice-Rector and UNIBL students participating in both components.
During her stay in Bialystok, Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, delivered a lecture as part of the BIP program entitled “From Survival to Sedentarism: The Evolution and Importance of Physical Exercise,” in which she discussed the role of physical activity and exercise throughout human history, as well as the contemporary challenges associated with sedentary lifestyles.
Participation in this program represents a continuation of the successful cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and Bialystok University of Technology within the ACROSS European University Alliance. Cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and the Polish university encompasses numerous joint activities, student and staff exchanges, and participation in various mobility programs. The implementation of this BIP program is yet another confirmation of the successful partnership between the two universities.
