Acting Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Ranko Škrbić, PhD, has received the annual award of the American Section of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (IACS) for outstanding achievements in scientific research in 2026.
Prof. Škrbić received the award at the closing ceremony of the annual conference of the IACS American Section, held from 9 to 11 September in Louisville, Kentucky.
The International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences brings together scientists from the United States and Canada engaged in research in the field of cardiovascular medicine, while this year’s conference was also attended by prominent scientists from Europe, South America and India.
The award represents a significant international scientific achievement for Prof. Škrbić, as well as recognition of the work of the team of researchers at the Center for Biomedical Research of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka.
Participation in the conference and receiving the award will contribute to greater international visibility of the University of Banja Luka’s scientific research and its promotion within the international academic community.
In addition to Prof. Škrbić, members of the European Section of IACS, Prof. Vladimir Jakovljević, PhD, and Prof. Nevena Jeremić, PhD, from the University of Kragujevac, were also presented with awards at the conference.
