The deadline for applications for the online workshop “Practical Tips for Open Science and Research Data Management”, organized as part of the RETLAMI-SEE project, has been extended to 18 October 2026.

The workshop will take place on 27 October 2026, from 12:15 to 13:45, in English, and is intended for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the social sciences and humanities.

The training will be delivered by Sascha Ritter and Matthias Novak from the Open Science Office of the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg, a partner institution in the RETLAMI-SEE project.

Open-access publishing and the preparation of research data management plans are becoming increasingly important parts of the preparation and implementation of research projects. The workshop will provide participants with practical advice on addressing specific challenges in these areas, including protecting data collected through interviews and surveys, storing and processing such data, and selecting suitable repositories and platforms for open-access publishing.

The workshop content will be tailored to participants’ needs. Interested researchers are therefore invited to specify one to three specific challenges they face in relation to open science and research data management in their research when applying.

Applications are open until 18 October 2026 and can be submitted via the application form.

For further information, interested researchers may contact niesser@ios-regensburg.de.

RETLAMI-SEE is a project funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and coordinated by the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka. It aims to strengthen capacities for high-quality, impactful research on transformations, labor, and migration in Southeast Europe.
