Dr Natasa Čereković, Research Associate and Project Manager at the University of Banja Luka, participated in the 17th International Scientific Agricultural Symposium “Agrosym 2026”, held from 6 to 9 October 2026 in Jahorina.
At the symposium, Dr Čereković delivered an oral presentation of the scientific paper entitled “Legislative Readiness for Agricultural Water Reuse in Republika Srpska: Alignment with EU Regulation 2020/741”, co-authored with Milica Marić and Suncica Bodružić.
The paper examines the legislative framework of Republika Srpska regarding the reuse of treated wastewater in agriculture, with particular emphasis on the alignment of domestic legislation with the relevant European Union regulation.
The research highlights the importance of improving legislation, protecting water resources, and establishing the conditions for the safe and sustainable reuse of treated wastewater in agricultural production.
In addition to presenting the paper, Dr Čereković contributed to the organisation of scientific sessions as a member of the working group, participating in session moderation and the exchange of expert opinions.
The “Agrosym 2026” symposium brought together researchers and experts from various fields of agriculture, biotechnology, and natural resource management, providing a platform for sharing scientific knowledge and experience.
The participation of the University of Banja Luka representative contributed to the international presentation of the University's research activities and strengthened cooperation in the fields of water management, environmental protection, and sustainable agricultural development.
