Representatives of the University of Banja Luka participated in the annual meeting of the Across Alliance, held from 13 to 15 October 2026 at Bialystok University of Technology in Poland.
The meeting brought together representatives of partner universities, members of their leadership teams, teaching staff, researchers, administrative staff and students to review the results achieved to date and agree on priorities for the next phase of project implementation.
The University of Banja Luka was represented by Vice-Rectors Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, and Prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD. Members of various Across Alliance working teams and student representatives participated in the conference.
During the three-day program, University representatives actively participated in meetings of their respective working teams, joint thematic workshops and activities aimed at strengthening links between different work packages. The Vice-Rectors also took part in meetings of the Alliance Executive Board and strategic panels focusing on the development of European university alliances, their governance, funding and long-term sustainability.
Particular attention focused on developing a joint educational offer, Atomic Learning Units (ALUs), micro-credentials, and digital badges, as well as opportunities to incorporate them into undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies. Discussions also addressed models for developing joint and double-degree study programs, improving academic mobility and further developing the Across eCampus digital platform.
A significant part of the activities focused on professional development for teaching staff, the development of the Across Academy for Teacher Training, research cooperation, the development of interdisciplinary research teams, the activities of the Across Think Tank, and the preparation of new international projects.
Thematic meetings also addressed improving communication and the visibility of results, strengthening staff and student engagement, institutional governance and the Alliance's long-term sustainability.
A special program was organized for student representatives, who discussed opportunities for more active student participation in joint initiatives, the exchange of experience and the development of student cooperation within the Across Alliance.
At the Alliance Executive Board meeting, participants reviewed progress in the implementation of work packages, financial matters, performance indicators and governance documents, as well as preparations for the next phase of project implementation.
The University of Banja Luka leads Work Package 2, which focuses on developing the educational offer and inter-university cooperation, while its representatives also actively participate in other work packages and Alliance governance bodies.
The annual meeting provided an opportunity for direct exchange of experience, coordination of activities among different working teams, and agreements on further cooperation between partner universities.
