Rector Zigaljev Visited the University of Banja Luka

Delegation of the University of Banja Luka, led by the Rector Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, met on 14 May 2019 with the Rector of the N.A. Dobrolyubova State Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod Prof. Boris Zhigaliev, PhD.

At the meeting held in the Rector’s Office, Rector Gajanin pointed out that the University of Banja Luka has good cooperation with institutions of higher education from Russia, but also that this cooperation should be further developed.

He stressed that cooperation should be intensified in the field of exchange of students and teaching staff between higher education institutions.

During the meeting, Rector Zhigaliev proposed that they should also establish joint study programs, at which graduates would earn two diplomas. As he stated, it would be the diplomas of the University of Banja Luka and the University of Dobrolyubova.

The rectors are agreed that this process should be aligned with the laws. According to Rector Gajanin, the University of Banja Luka will propose that dual diploma program be regulated in the new law on higher edcation, which should be passed by the end of the year.

Deans of the Faculty of Philology and Faculty of Political Sciences Prof. Petar Penda, PhD, and Prof. Zdravko Zlokapa, PhD, indicated that cooperation with faculties and universities in Russia is good in regard to the exchange of students, but that in the forthcoming period focus should also be on the exchange of academic staff.

After the meeting of the two delegations, Dean Zlokapa and Rector Zhigaliev signed another Agreement on Development of Cooperation between the N.A. Dobrolyubova State Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod and the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka.

Their cooperation will primarily relate to the exchange of students, but also to the exchange of professors, as well as to the conduction of fundamental, research, methodical and applied scientific research in the social-cultural sphere and the field of political science. Other forms of cooperation are also planned under this agreement.

The meeting and the signing were also attended by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Issues Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and University Development Prof. Goran Latinovic, PhD, and Vice-Dean for Scientific Research of Banja Luka University Faculty of Political Sciences Assistant Professor Aleksandar Vranjes, PhD.
