Faculty of Economics Awarded the Best Students

At the ceremony held on 8 February 2021 in honour of marking the Day of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka, plaques and cash prizes were awarded to the eight best students at this faculty. 

Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Milenko Krajišnik, PhD, says that the goal is to further improve the quality and conditions of studying at this faculty in the forthcoming period. 

„We plan to innovate the curriculum, which we will further tailor to the needs of the labour market and the Republic of Srpska for economists.“, Krajišnik told the journalists.

He noted that the Faculty of Economics has a long tradition, and that the goal is to further improve the quality and conditions for studying.

The student of the generation at the Faculty of Economics Lana Pepić, whose average grade is 9.91, expressed satisfaction with the fact that her work has been recognized and said that her plan was to continue studying and advancing.

„According to the information I have from colleagues who study abroad, the knowledge we gain at our faculty is very competitive. In addition to studying the theoretical aspects, we also developed critical thinking skills“, Pepić said.

She added that the economy is her great love, and that she is especially interested in companies that are at an early stage of development, especially from the IT sector, as there is great potential for the development of society. 

Let us be reminded that the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka was established on 6 February 1975 by the decision of the Municipal Assembly of Banja Luka issued at the joint session of the Council of Associated Labour, Social and Political Council and the Council of Local Communities. 

The predecessor of today’s faculty was the Department of the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, established in Banja Luka on 1 November 1974, where the first lectures for 169 students began.
