Rector Talked with the Ambassador of Italy to BH
University of Banja LukaGeneralRector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina Marco di Ruzza talked on 14 October 2021 about the past cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and Italian higher education institutions.
At the meeting in the premises of the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka, Rector Gajanin briefed the Italian diplomat about the cooperation between our University and Italian universities.
„The University of Banja Luka has achieved significant cooperation with Italian universities in the past, so we have a successful cooperation with the University of Macerata, the Kore University of Enna, the University of Bari, the University of Udine, as well as the Sapienza University of Rome and a number of other prestigious higher education institution from Italy“, the rector emphasized.
According to him, there is significant cooperation in the field of international exchange of students and staff through Erasmus+ cooperation programmes. As he stated, that cooperation is taking place with the University of Bologna, Ca’Foscari University of Venice and the University Institute of Architecture Venice, the University of Turin and others. According to the rector, there is active cooperation in the field of capacity building, also through Erasmus+ programmes.
The Italian ambassador praised the University and the Faculty of Philology, especially emphasizing the good cooperation with the Italian Language and Literature Study Programme. The ambassador emphasized his readiness to improve all forms of cooperation, and sent sincere congratulations to the management of the University of Banja Luka for the achieved cooperation with higher education institutions from Italy. As he stated, the University of Banja Luka has established cooperation with prestigious Italian universities.
According to him, the opening of the Italian Culture Centre has been planned in the forthcoming period, where the Italian Language and Literature Study Programme at the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka, would be a significant partner.
At the meeting, they also discussed the popularization of the Italian language and culture on the territory of the Republic of Srpska, and activities on the establishment of new forms of cooperation. During this visit, the ambassador also met with a group of students from Turin who are staying at the University of Banja Luka as part of a student exchange programme.
