The call for applications for enrollment in the first year of first-, second-, and third-cycle studies for the 2026/2027 academic year at the University of Banja Luka has been announced.
According to the call for applications, published on June 10, 2026, the University of Banja Luka plans to enroll a total of 2,605 students in the first year of first-cycle studies, including 1,858 state-funded places. A total of 423 places are available for self-financing students, while 213 places are reserved for international students and 111 for part-time students.
A total of 971 students are planned for enrollment in second-cycle studies. Of these, 523 will be state-funded students, 254 self-financing students, 98 places are intended for international students, and 87 for part-time students.
With regard to third-cycle studies, enrollment is planned for 167 candidates. Most of them, 135, will finance their studies independently, while places have also been provided for 31 international students and one part-time student.
Candidate Applications
According to the published call, applications for the first enrollment period for first-cycle studies will be accepted from June 22 to June 26, 2026.
The entrance examination is scheduled for June 29, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
At the Faculty of Medicine, the entrance examination will be held on the same day, beginning at 2:00 p.m., while at the Academy of Arts, the examination period will last from June 29 to July 3. The publication of admission results is planned for July 1, and enrollment of admitted candidates will take place from July 7 to July 10.
At the Faculty of Security Sciences, the entrance examination will be conducted in two groups, on June 29 and 30, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Applications for English-language study programs at the Faculty of Medicine are accepted from June 1 to June 26, while the online entrance examination is scheduled for June 29. Results will be published on July 1, and enrollment of admitted candidates will take place in September.
Second Enrollment Period
The second enrollment period will be organized by the University's member institutions that do not fill their planned enrollment quotas during the first period. Applications during the second enrollment period will be accepted from August 24 to August 28, and the entrance examination will be held on August 31 at 9:00 a.m.
At the Academy of Arts, the entrance examination will continue until September 4, while enrollment of admitted candidates is planned from September 8 to September 11.
Publication of admission results in the second enrollment period is planned no later than September 2, and enrollment of admitted candidates will take place from September 7 to September 11.
For English-language programs at the Faculty of Medicine, the second enrollment period runs from August 3 to August 28, while the online entrance examination is scheduled for August 31. Results will be published on September 4, and enrollment will take place in September.
At the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka, admission deadlines for second-cycle studies in the study programs International Master in Business and Administration; Economics, International Economics and Trade, both delivered in English, are organized in two enrollment periods. Applications during the first enrollment period will be accepted from June 22 to June 26, while applications during the second enrollment period will be accepted from August 24 to August 28, 2026.
Second- and Third-Cycle Studies – Deadlines
Applications for enrollment in second- and third-cycle studies will be accepted from June 22 to October 2.
Information on ranking lists will be published no later than October 16, and enrollment of admitted candidates will take place from October 19 to October 23.
Applications for First-Cycle Studies
Candidates applying for first-cycle studies are required to submit a birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship issued within the previous six months, original secondary school transcripts for all grades completed, and a diploma confirming successful completion of the secondary school, leaving examination, or final examination.
If applying to more than one study program, candidates may submit certified copies of these documents. Proof of payment of the entrance examination fee must also be provided. Candidates applying to the Faculty of Security Sciences and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport must submit a medical certificate issued by the Medical Specialist Center of the University of Banja Luka, while applicants to the Faculty of Security Sciences must also provide a certificate confirming that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against them.
Applications for Second-Cycle Studies
Candidates applying for second-cycle studies are required to submit a birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship issued within the previous six months, the original or a certified copy of their first-cycle diploma, a transcript of records, the curriculum of the completed study program if the candidate graduated from another faculty, and proof of payment of the examination fee.
Applications for Third-Cycle Studies
For enrollment in third-cycle studies, candidates are required to submit a birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship issued within the previous six months, certified copies of first- and second-cycle diplomas or proof of equivalence of qualifications obtained under previous regulations (with originals presented for inspection), a diploma supplement or transcript of records including grade point average, the curriculum for candidates who studied under the pre-Bologna system, proof of payment of administrative fees, and a bibliography.
Online Applications
Applications for all first-, second-, and third-cycle study programs at the University of Banja Luka may also be submitted electronically through the web application available at upis.unibl.org. Candidates applying electronically are required to submit original documentation at the time of enrollment.
