Rector Gajanin at the Congress of Pathologists and Cytologists of Serbia

Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, participated in the 19th National Congress of the Association of Pathologists and Cytologists of Serbia with international participation, which was held from 23 to 26 April 2026 in Vrnjačka Banja.

Professor Gajanin chaired the proceedings of the session dedicated to breast pathology, and he also presented a paper titled “Clinical significance of the morphological characteristics of the cervical carcinoma”.

During the Congress, the participants had a chance to listen to lectures, take part in discussions in many fields of pathology, including hematopathology, lungs and gynecological pathology, and other narrower specialistic disciplines. This event was a significant platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and latest achievements in the field of pathology and cytology.

In accordance with contemporary trends, special attention was paid to the digital transformation of pathology and the application of advanced technological solutions to improve diagnostics and secure a more efficient and precise path to adequate therapy, which was one of the key topics of this year’s congress.

The Congress gathered more than 300 participants, several dozens of lecturers from Serbia, the region, Europe and America, organized by the Association of Pathologists and Cytologists of Serbia, chaired by Prof. Sofija Glumac, PhD.
