Introduction to geotechnical aspects relevant to roads, on which the overall perception and solution of the road depends.
Learning outcomes | ||||
The student is able to observe, examine, analyze and create an optimal geotechnical solution for the road, for specific conditions.
Content | ||||
Introductory lecture, development of the profession and types of problems, presentation of objects and interventions. Exploration works on routes and borrowings. Tests of soil properties in the laboratory. Soil behavior models in road surfaces. Compaction of the soil. Soil improvement. Substrate compressibility modules - rules, tests. Load-bearing capacity of road surfaces. Landslides in soil and rocks-exploration works, analyzes, remediation. Supporting structures. Modern solutions by floor reinforcement - modeling and application. Observations and measurements. Tunnels for roads - basic analyzes of deformations and load-bearing capacity, construction and observations.
Teaching Methods | ||||

Evaluation and grading
The independent annual assignment is defended during the semester in terms of lectures, exercises or consultations. The condition for taking the colloquium is the defended annual task with the part of the material belonging to it. Students who do not pass the colloquia during the semester, take the integral part of the exam, scored by the total number of points of both colloquia. Each of the tests is considered successful if the student achieves a minimum of 51% of the points provided for the knowledge test. The table below shows the percentages that can be won for individual activities and knowledge tests.
Specific remarks | ||||
The condition for taking the exam is that the annual task has been done and defended. If a student makes more than 3 absences, he is obliged to re-enroll the subject. |
