Students and employees of the University of Banja Luka cleaning the Municipality of Samac

On Saturday (24 May 2014), more than 150 students and employees of the University of Banja Luka were conducting the activities of cleaning the Municipality of Samac. The volunteers cleaned the streets in the center of the town, the Town’s Cultural Centre and private houses in the local community of Crkvina.



Aside from offering help in cleaning, the volunteers provided the residents of the flood- affected areas with humanitarian packages. The employees of the Faculty of Forestry collected 30 packages containing stuff for personal hygiene to their students whose houses and flats were flooded in this Municipality, but also to other residents from this area.



According to the data of the Student Parliament of the University of Banja Luka, more than 2, 500 students have been engaged in the cleaning of the flood affected areas during the past ten days.



On the day after the outbreak of the floods, last Saturday, 500 students rushed to help the people from the flood-affected areas, the number growing by the day.. All this confirms the high level of their altruism, social responsibility and solidarity.
