From 18 to 28 April 2017, a series of events was held, marking 'The University of Banja Luka Students' Days', organised by the Students' Parliament of the University
It featured numerous sport competitions, educational, cultural, volunteering and fun events, through which the values of students' life, the University of Banja Luka, as well as of the City of Banja Luka and Republic of Srpska respectively were presented and promoted, highlighting the idea of a community of young, creative and educated people.
The opening ceremony took place at the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska, gathering many renowned guests, among whom were the Rector of the University, the Chair of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, the Mayor of the City of Banja Luka, representatives of the ministries of the Republic of Srpska Government, deans, professors and students.
On that occasion, the organisers noted that the event represented the crown of long-term activities of the aforementioned students' organisation, connecting all students of the University and establishing cooperation with other universities in both the country and the region.
Among 50 different activities, there was a place for the Sport Games section,where our students had the opportunity to compete in eight sport disciplines, such as basketball, football, voleyball, chess, judo, tennis and table tennis.
Furthermore, the Scholarships and Employment Fair was held, whose highlight was signing the agreement between the University and the City of Banja Luka, which anticipates a special protocol on students' practice and volunteering in near future.
As far as cultural events are concerned, there were students' exhibitions, plays, and stand-up nights.
In addition, there was a volunteering campaign to clean the perimeter of the campus organised. Also, students actively participated in the Info Day of the University of Banja Luka, together with the management of the University, faculties and teaching staff, in order to present the University of Banja Luka as one of most favourable institution to study at.
There were also fun events, so the students, citizens and visitors of Banja Luka had an oportunity to enjoy the Jazz night, Open air party, Open air cinema and the concert of one of the most popular rock bands of the region.
The organisation of these events was aided by the University of Banja Luka, City of Banja Luka, Office of the Republic of Srpska President, Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as numerous companies, with the media coverage provided by the Republic of Srpska Public Broadcast System.
