University of Banja LukaGeneralThe monograph University of Banja Luka 1975-2020 was promoted on 22 December 2020 at Banski dvor Cultural Centre.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, states that the monograph was published in honour of 45 years of existence, work and development of the University of Banja Luka, which, as he said, was established on solid foundations.
The rector further says that this monograph is specific in that all 18 members participated in its preparation, and that it represents an integrated university.
,,We acted as a whole, but each faculty was presented separately as well, so readers can find information about the University in one place, but also about a specific member of the University or a study programme at one of the faculties.", Gajanin explained.
As stated by the Rector, every working day and every step taken towards the progress of our University further strengthens the sense of responsibility that we all have towards it.
,,We will work constantly and tirelessly and do everything to make the University grow and prosper in every way’’, Rector Gajanin says.
He stated that the most important strategic goals for the future are the improvement of teaching and teaching process, modernization of study programmes, promotion and support of scientific research, international cooperation with other universities, as well as the improvement of cooperation with the public and private sector.
Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and University Development and editor-in-chief of the monograph University of Banja Luka 1975-2020 Prof. Goran Latinović, PhD, said that this book was created out of the need to present to the scientific, expert and general public what the University has represented in the last 45 years.
,,To inform the public about the changes that the University was facing, what temptations it was going through and what it represents today in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska, but also in the Serbian spiritual and cultural sphere.“, Latinović stressed.
One of the co-authors of this monograph, Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, emphasizes that the monograph represents a kind of document of the heritage of this higher education institution, as it fully describes its origin and development.
Malinović emphasized the importance of this monograph, because, in addition to following the development of the University since its founding in 1975, it also follows the establishment of members of this higher education institution, which later grew into faculties.
,,This document is a witness that the University has had a decisive influence on the development of both the local society here and all the social systems in which it existed.’’, Malinović said.
Two other co-authors, Professor Ljubiša Preradović, PhD, and Senior Assistant Nikola Ožegović, MA, also gave speeches at the promotion.
Students of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka performed in the artistic part of the programme.
The event was organized in compliance with all the prescribed epidemiological measures.
