Establishment of a Centre for Support of the Wood Processing Sector Planned
University of Banja LukaGeneralRector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska talked on 25 February 2021 about the implementation of the FEDEP project.
At the meeting in the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka, they talked about cooperation and the components of the project related to the wood processing sector, in which the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship and the University of Banja Luka act as partners.
Accordingly, the relevant Ministry and the University plan to establish a Centre for Support of the Wood Processing Sector in the Republic of Srpska, which would which would provide comprehensive support for the development of wood products. The centre would provide assistance to wood processors related to business, equipping laboratories, and establishing design centres. Furthermore, it is planned that the centre will provide support in the field of human resources management, market development, marketing activities, as well as to facilitate access to finance.
The establishment of this centre is one of the key goals of the Republic of Srpska Industry Development Strategy. The formation process itself, which should be achieved with the support of the World Bank, aims to positively affect the industrial and economic development of the Republic of Srpska.
