’Student Days“ Started

The ’University of Banja Luka Student Days’ manifestation was opened on 13 September 2021.

,,The ’University of Banja Luka Student Days’ manifestation is an opportunity for our students to show their knowledge, capabilities and skills to the public, but also to compete as knights in sports competitions, as well as to take part in the cultural programme and, most importantly, to socialize,“ Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, said and added that all good ideas and projects nominated by the Students’ Parliament and the Students’ Union of the Republic of Srpska will continue to have strong support.

,,In the years to come, I hope that we will be able to organize an "Open Day" event for secondary school students from all over our Republic of Srpska and show them that their choice to continue their education at the University of Banja Luka is a logical one, because we have everything and we have been the best for generations“, the rector pointed out at the opening ceremony in the lecture hall of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Banja Luka.

Assistant Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska, Jelena Starčević, emphasized the importance of this event, within which students will have the opportunity to socialize, gain new knowledge, experiences and new friends, but also to express their interests in a creative way.

She stated that the Ministry supports student activism, and that it has good cooperation with the Students’ Union of the Republic of Srpska, opinion of which it respects for the most important issues concerning student life and standards.

President of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka Radovan Jalić emphasizes that despite the unfavorable epidemiological situation, they managed to organize the "Student Days" event.

,,We have prepared a rich programme for the next seven days, where every student of the University of Banja Luka will find something interesting for themselves.“, he said and noted that boxes for collecting humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable will be placed at all events.

,,This is the part of the year when we gather to celebrate our successes and exams passed; however, this is also the time when we make new friends from the University members that we have not had the opportunity to meet before. At the "Student Days" event, in a relaxed atmosphere we show our knowledge and skills and most importantly, we learn a life lesson in friendship and solidarity“, President of the Students’ Union of the Republic of Srpska Nikola Bojić said.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, and Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD.

The goal of this event, which will last until 20 September, is to promote students and student life, both at the University and in the city on the Vrbas River. The event, with the support of the University of Banja Luka and the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, is organized by the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Students’ Union of the Republic of Srpska.
