47 Years of the Faculty of Law Marked
University of Banja LukaGeneralCeremony in honour of marking 47 years of successful work and development of the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka and the promotion of masters of law and law graduates was held on 4 February 2022.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, praised the work of the Faculty of Law.
As he stated, this is a faculty that has the spatial capacity and which is recording progress and success in all fields of work.
,,In the upcoming period, we will insist on raising the level of quality in the field of teaching and the teaching process, as well as on increasing the share of the practical part of teaching,“ the rector said and announced that in the forthcoming period new generations will come to the Faculty of Law, and that only the best students will become part of the academic community.
Rector Gajanin pointed out that all of us together at the University of Banja Luka must work to create even better working conditions in all fields.
Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srđan Rajčević, MA, emphasized that science in the 21st century is facing great challenges and it is necessary, with the application of new technologies, to introduce innovations in study programmes.
As he pointed out, the innovation of study programmes at this faculty will relate to issues such as data protection in digital form and protection of personal data, as well as regulation of relations in the field of information security.
Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Željko Mirjanić, PhD, emphasized that the Faculty of Law is one of the most important institutions in the Republic of Srpska, which educates lawyers, preserves and builds the legal system.
,,The Faculty of Law is a temple of legal science, we are continuously working on shaping new young people who are ready to work on international scientific projects. We are training lawyers who will be able to cope with all challenges,“ Mirjanić stated.
Igor Mirjanić – student of the generation with a grade point average of 9.88 - said that studies require great sacrifices but also good organization of time.
,,The biggest challenges in legal science are to maintain the values that are attributed to every lawyer, because we face attacks,ˮ he said.
At the ceremony in the lecturing hall of the Faculty of Law, which was also attended by Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, awards were presented to the best students of this faculty, as well as to professors for their outstanding contribution to the work and affirmation of the Faculty of Law.
