Erasmus+ staff exchange week is underway at the University of Banja Luka, during which a delegation from the University of Cadiz is staying at our university.
It is a delegation composed of 25 members of the University of Cadiz, led by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization Prof. Rafael Jiménez Castañeda, PhD.
Thus, on the first day of the visit, on 13 June, a presentation of the University was held at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka as part of the international credit exchange. The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Milica Balban, PhD. On the second day, 14 June, a presentation of projects under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building and Horizon Programme at the University of Banja Luka and the University of Cadiz was held at the Faculty of Political Science.
In addition, colleagues from Cadiz presented other possibilities in which project cooperation between the two institutions could be established in the forthcoming period, and various staff units of this Spanish university were presented.
Meeting with Vice-Rector Balaban
On the same day, Vice-Rector Balaban, Vice-Rector for Internationalization Prof. Rafael Jiménez Castañeda, PhD, and Director of the Office for Internationalization Prof. Michel Remi Njiki, PhD, had a meeting at the University of Banja Luka Rectorate. This was an opportunity to talk about strengthening the cooperation between the two universities.
They agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the coming period. The plan is to work on establishing cooperation between researchers from the two universities, and to consider the possibility of launching joint programmes in the third cycle of studies in order to increase the scientific visibility of the two higher education institutions.
As said at the meeting, all these activities should be finalized by the end of this year, when the return visit of the delegation of the University of Banja Luka led by Vice-Rector Balaban to the University in Cadiz is planned.
During this visit to Banja Luka, guests from Spain visited the University Campus, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, as well as the cultural and historical sights of the city.
