Monographs Promoted in Prnjavor

University of Banja LukaGeneral

The monographs "University of Banja Luka 1975 - 2020" and "Religious Buildings of National Minorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina" were promoted on 16 June 2022 in Prnjavor.

Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, emphasizes that the University has a rich history translated into one major work published in honour of 45 years of our university.

,,Let me remind you again that the University of Banja Luka was founded on 7 November 1975. Initially, the University consisted of five faculties and three colleges, as well as several institutes. Today we have 18 members, with 145 study programmes and about 15,000 students'', Kesić says and emphasizes that the monograph presents each segment of the development of the University of Banja Luka.

Senior Public Relations Associate Dario Stanković says that the University has been growing strategically and with a clear vision.
,,The monograph, as well as the history of the University of Banja Luka, sets forth that we have been an integrated university for years and that we function according to the principles of the Bologna Declaration and legislation, while adhering to all norms and standards related to higher education.“, he said. 

,,The University of Banja Luka is one of the first accredited universities in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a confirmation that we were among the first to meet European norms and standards in higher education. The University, as an educational and scientific institution, is recognized by its professors, researchers, students and study programmes with the competences students acquire during their studies'', Stanković said.

One of the authors of both monographs is Prof. Ljubiša Preradović, PhD, who says that the monograph on the University outlines everything that has marked the development of this higher education institution.

,,We presented all the rectors, faculties, sub-organizational units and Banja Luka, alike,“ Preradović says and adds that there are 1000 copies of the monograph. 

As for the monograph "Religious Buildings of National Minorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina", he states that the primary goal was to document and valorise the architectural characteristics of these buildings, as well as to promote and present this important fund of religious buildings, which portraited the life and work of several national minority in Bosnia and Herzegovina for several centuries.

,,The whole text is presented in Serbian, in Cyrillic, and English language, and the parts of the text that refer to separate religious buildings of national minorities has also been presented in the language of the national minority to which the religious building belongs'', Preradović said.
